***2009 SPEYERS ROAD IMPROVEMENTS*** Starting Wednesday September 23, 2009, Speyers Road will be closed
(except to local traffic) from North 14th Street to North 5th. North
14th Street will be used to detour traffic and the detour route will be
marked. Please observe the 25 MPH speed limit. This new detour is to facilitate the removal of the existing road.
Paving is scheduled for the end of October. We know the project has been going on for awhile now, but this
project is for you, the people that live along and travel Speyers Road.
It will be very nice when it is completed. This information will be updated or you can contact Public Works at

Public Works is requesting your assistance. If you are out driving or walking and notice a street light is not working, please write down the six digit pole number, the closest address, and then contact the Public Works Dept. at 698-7365 or e-mail to give them the information. Thanks for your help!
The City of Selah offers an optional FREE Recycling Program through Basin Disposal. If interested, contact B.D.I. at 248-7533. Recycling is picked up once a month on your normal garbage pick-up day, as shown on the Recycling and Yard Waste Calendar. If you would like more information on drop-off recycling sites in Yakima County, visit the Yakima County Public Works Solid Waste Division website here.
